Swedish Civil Defense Center is Hiring Security Soldiers
The Swedish Civil Defense Center is seeking full-time security soldiers to be stationed at SkyddC in Umeå. You will be part of a readiness security force (IBSS) where your duties will include guarding the Umeå garrison.
Main Responsibilities
The tasks for a readiness security force include, among other things, patrolling, guarding, access control, visitor reception, and staffing the alarm center. The duties also include intervening against and reporting security-threatening activities according to the action plan. Physical training is one of your tasks, and you must meet the requirements according to FM FySs. You will also maintain your knowledge regarding weapon handling and the protection law.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Approved military basic training with grades at least "JA-2-2" or "JA-5-5" (if conscription was completed before 2010)
- Holds a B driver's license
- Approved military security guard training (preferably after 2010).
- Good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.
Personal Qualities
We are looking for someone who can work well as part of a team. The focus is on a strong sense of responsibility. You should be unpretentious and show humility towards your tasks. You have good self-awareness and should be mature and reliable to handle people in a professional manner. You are calm and stable but also have the ability to adapt quickly as your work situation can change from calm to requiring immediate action. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

- Experience working within the Armed Forces
- Experience in security services.
- Experience in overseas service.
- Driver's license for off-road vehicles.
- Valid security guard certificate.
- Approved security guard instructor.
- Approved military police training.
- Approved close combat instructor.
- Approved first aid instructor.
- Approved operations manager training.
- Approved group leader training.
- Pistol training P88.
- Communication training according to the Armed Forces.
- Additional language skills.
Other Information
- Employment form/employment degree: Fixed-term employment according to GSS/K. Full-time. The position starts with a six-month probationary period. The position will later involve shift/weekend work and on-call duties at the workplace. Level OR1-5.
- Work location: Umeå
- Individual salary setting applies.
- Start as soon as possible by agreement.

The Swedish Civil Defense Center, SkyddC, in Umeå is the Armed Forces' knowledge center for protection against radiation, contagion, and toxic substances, known as CBRN events. The unit not only develops the Armed Forces' units in the area but also ensures capability within the Armed Forces' other components. SkyddC therefore works with both training and development issues and is responsible for maintaining national and international readiness in the area. The center's function is joint defense, which means ongoing cooperation with several authorities within our area of expertise. At SkyddC, more than 140 civilian and military employees work. The unit's budget amounts to approximately 140 million kronor per year.
